Eijidoku HomeEijidoku is based on the same principles as Sudoku. ‘Su’ means ‘number’ whereas ‘Eiji’ means ‘letter’. The word ‘Doku’ means ‘single’. The big difference is that Eijidoku is a lot more challenging. Not only do you have to work out the grid but you also have to find words, sentences, anagrams etc from the 9 x 9 grid. RulesIn Eijidoku you have a few basic rules. You have to fill in the 9 x 9 grid so that every row, every column and every 3 x 3 box contains the letters ‘A’ through to ‘I’ which means that there cannot be repeated letters in any row, column or 3 x 3 box. For more details go to How to Play There is a set of figures below each grid. These figures correspond with the shaded letters in the grid. Using the Eijidoku Grid, transpose the letters that are in the shaded boxes to the correct letters that will make up the word or words in the puzzle. Hopefully, once all the shaded letters have been changed, you will be left with the correct answer. Note: Depending on the category, some titles may have American spellings. I am very interested in any feedback you may have regarding the published web Eijidoku puzzles or the Eijidoku book.
